Ted Lasso Theme for MAY

Stay grounded, keep doing what you are doing for our students!  You are amazing!

  •  From MEMS Admin: To Lynn G, Lynn P and Sydney for putting on a great school dance and running all things STUCO and PBIS!
  • From Jessie: I shout out to Carrie Lamberti for being the most supportive colleague and friend a person could ask for. She is the first to come running when help is requested and the last to leave when support is needed. The students are blessed to have you in their corner, and I am beyond grateful to have you in my life and appreciative of everything you have done to help make me and our students successful. Much love to you Carrie, my friend.
  • From Tammy R: Many thanks to Tim McKay and Deb Hill for their help on the Regionals trip to Prescott this past weekend. The students were amazing in hard hours of rehearsals and concerts, and Tim and Deb really helped keep everyone on the right path.
  • From Stevie: Shoutout to Angie for "holding down the fort" while Cree was gone last Thursday! Angie led a great lesson with 4th hour (the hour I period subbed) and her classroom management was nothing less than amazing. The relationships created between her and the students are strong! We will miss you at MEMS <3 Thank you to Lawrence, Maria, Tammy R., and everyone else who supported my two ELLS this past Friday. Your support means the world. <33
  • Anonymous: Cody Myers- Supporting alternative program students in any way possible! She got 8th graders to get up to all 2's so they can walk in promotion. Way to go!!
  • Anonymous: My shoutout is to Mr. Godwin. Thank you for welcoming me to MEMS and always greeting me in the hallway. On the first day of school you introduced yourself and shook my hand, I will always remember that.
  • From Jenn F: Jordan, thank you for taking this job on with me this semester! You joined us and immediately started making life manageable again in the RP room for me.... having meaningful, reflective conversations, calling home with students, organizing daily lunch detention and contacting parents if students ditch, managing students in ISS and getting them to and from classes and lunch, and being here to tell me to chill and take "5" when necessary. You are an amazing teacher of children and advocate for personal empowerment, accountability, and growth. You are kind and patient. Students are so lucky to have you in their lives, as I have been to have you in my 4th grade, 5th grade and RP classrooms. You are one of the game-changers, my friend.

GRADES ARE DUE FRIDAY!

No whole group Collaboration, prep time to finish up grading.  We know you have lots to do.

We will send information for the last week!

Departments, please make sure your departments have turned in the information requested in the last two slide decks.

HOW TO SURVIVE THE LAST 3 WEEKS OF SCHOOL!

We have 3 weeks of school left and a lot of learning left to do. The most effective tool to minimize misbehavior is to reduce free or downtime

  • If you want to take students outside, it is best to take your lesson outside with them so they are focused on learning.

  • Eliminate free time and the use of phone and air pods.  This will support Away for the Day.

  • Maintain high expectations and rigor!

  • Have lots of work for students to do.  Downtime is your enemy!

  • Have restorative conversations with students.

  • Call home for Tier 1 behaviors.

  • Refer students for Tier 2 and 3 behaviors.

  • Review classroom expectations from PBIS and teacher DAILY!
