Holy cow I cannot believe it is December. We only have 15 days left of semester one! That went by sooooo fast.

It was brought to the attention of the administration that staff needed

clarification when a student has lost IPad privileges. Typically staff is made aware that a student does not have their IPAD and will need paper access. While we cannot always tell you why they lost access you should be informed when that happens. If you have not, we apologize. In the future we will ensure you are informed. When a student loses privileges you should ensure they do not have access to any other IPad and as always they should not be using their phones to access education. Students should be given paper access to the assignment and learning. If you have any questions please contact administration.

MEMS and SMS is hosting the Sceenagers Movie on Dec 5 at 5:30 pm. The movie focuses on the effects of screen time and social media on our youth. All administration and counselors will be attending. We encourage our staff to also attend.

BLACKOUT DATES AND PROTOCOLS

As a reminder, the days before and after a holiday (see below) are blackout dates for ALL staff. (Classified, certified, and ancillary) You must have principal pre-approval if you must call off for extenuating circumstances. Please don’t plan a trip without prior approval. Thank you for understanding.

“Personal leave will not be granted on unless you receive pre-approval from principal.: 1) the day prior or subsequent to any scheduled holiday, 2) the first or last instructional week of the school year, 3) Parent/Teacher conference days, 4) make-up snow days, 5) testing days for test administrators and proctors, and 6) district wide staff development days.”

Any day we are above the 10% threshold. When we hit the 10% threshold, I will then need to deny. It is very helpful when you secure a sub.
